BOTH Hilperton United and Semington Magpies suffered Trowbridge and District League Division One defeats without scoring a goal on Saturday.
Hilperton United, who were unbeaten before the visit of Calne Town Reserves, found their opponents in extremely confident mood as the Reserves continued their perfect start to the season.
United went down to a 3-0 defeat. Jamie Crump opened the scoring for the early pacesetters with second half strikes from Oscar Webster and Mark Dolman completing the scoring
It means Hilperton United move down from third to fifth in the table.
And Semington Magpies continue to search for a first win of the season and remain rooted to the bottom of the table after suffering the same 3-0 home defeat.
Before the match, visitors Marshfield had not won yet.
Marshfield got off to perfect start with Ewan Anderson taking advantage of a mix up in the Magpies defence to open the scoring with a tap in. Marshfield took full advantage of a slow Semington start adding two more in the next ten minutes thanks to efforts from Rory Davis and Ben Gardner.
In the second period, Semington started to play some excellent passing football, moving the ball around well and finding themselves in good positions.
But they were met with a well-organised and resolute Marshfield defence who were determined to hold on for their first win this season.
