FURTHER details of the new Christmas Market which is coming to Trowbridge on December 18-20 have been released.
The market will be on the site of the Innox Mills development near the railway station, the former Bowyers factory, and will see the historic buildings there open to the public for the first time in over a decade.
The Christmas Market is being organised by the Innox Mills site owners in conjunction with The Anonymous Travelling Market company which has held the monthly Innox Market close by since the summer.
Dates for the Christmas Market were moved back due to the Covid-19 lockdown around England, but stall holders will now be providing a wide selection of products in time for the holidays while there is also expected to be street food, drinks and live music available.
The Market opening times are between 9am and 9pm on Friday December 18, 9am-6pm on Saturday December 19 and 9am-4pm on Sunday December 20.
Mr Jonathan Dean, director of Innox Mills, said: “The Christmas Market is a great opportunity to allow visitors a look inside some of the historic buildings here as we progress our plans to create a vibrant new quarter in Trowbridge,
“The historic architecture will add to the rustic, festive atmosphere of the event, where visitors can pick up gifts and decorations while supporting local businesses. With other Christmas markets in the area cancelled this year, we’re keen to provide a good day out and give people the chance to see more of what this new quarter will have to offer.”
He added: “Social space will play a major role in the new development and we’re looking forward to announcing more initiatives in 2021.”
There are also plans to continue to grow the popular Innox Market into the New Year, which takes place on the third Sunday of each month.
Options are also being explored to move the Innox Market into the buildings that will house the Christmas Market along with a street food courtyard and added seating.
The Innox Market is visited safely by around three thousand people each month and features handmade arts and crafts and vintage clothing, plus street food, fresh produce and local craft spirits, ciders and ales, live music and children's entertainment.
Confirmed dates for the Innox Market in 2021 are January 17, February 21 and March 21.
Plans for the new Innox Mills development, which will see three hundred new homes built there along with other facilities, are due to be put forward to local councils for consideration in the coming months.
